Bronco Freshmen
Baseball Beats
South Beauregard
13-2
Sam Houston’s
freshman
baseball kept up
their solid play
with a ten-run
rule victory in
Moss Bluff
Wednesday
afternoon. It
all started on
the mound for
the team as
starting pitcher
Kameron Esthay
struck out the
first two
batters looking
and went the
distance for the
Broncos. He was
in the groove
all afternoon as
he threw five
innings of three
hit, one walk
ball. Seven
Knight batters
struck out.
After getting a
run in the first
inning on a hit
by Evan Campbell
and an error by
the left
fielder, SHHS
scored three
runs in the
bottom of the
second. Adam
Chase led off
with a single
and advanced on
a walk by Blake
Caswell. Derek
LaPorte (2 hits)
then lined a
double to left
to drive in
Chase and
Caswell. One
batter later,
Colin Kober (2
hits, sb) capped
the scoring in
that inning by
knocking LaPorte
in on a single
to right center.
The Broncos
scored six runs
in the 5th
inning to reach
the mercy point.
Blaise McCoy
plated the first
run of the
inning with a
tough bounce
double to center
field. Eric
Peterson (2b,
3b, 3 rbi) ended
the game with
his second hit
of the
afternoon, a
triple that
knocked in Kober
and Zach Rome.
The Broncos had
12 hits in the
game and did not
commit an error.
