freshman
Broncos
strung
together
six hits
to beat
the Iowa
Yellowjackets
in the
final
game of
the
tournament,
5-1. In
usual
fashion,
the team
started
off fast
with a 2
run
first
inning,
highlighted
by a
Colin
Kober
lead-off
single,
a triple
by
Kameron
Esthay,
and a
sacrifice
fly by
Evan
Campbell.
Kober
was 2
for 2
with 2
runs
scored
and a
stolen
base.
Austin
Gordon
padded
the lead
in the
second
inning
with a 2
rbi base
hit
scoring
Blaise
McCoy (1
for 2,
1b) and
Derek
LaPorte.
Campbell
capped
the
scoring
for Sam
Houston
with an

double
in the 5th.
Esthay
went the
distance
on the
mound
for the
team. He
allowed

hits and

The team

themselves
in great
scoring
opportunities

with

Broncos
